Celebrity takes Delivery of New Ship

The Celebrity Solstice was delivered to Celebrity Cruises on Friday at a ceremony in Emshaven, Netherlands.

The ship will begin its transatlantic voyage on October 25, with arrival in Fort Lauderdale anticipated November 3.

The Celebrity Solstice will be christened on November 14, and will embark on its inaugural season November 23, on a series of seven night eastern Caribbean cruises roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale.

In spring 2009, the Celebrity Solstice will sail 10 and 11 night Mediterranean cruises roundtrip from Civitavecchia, Italy.
